slayer gyrl's logo
I love it when things turn out better than expected. When I asked my friend and superbly talented designer Pascal Alouidor to create a logo for me, he took his sweet ol’ time. He’s West Indian, so that may have something to do with it.
When I tried to hurry him along, eager to get my cancer awareness and self-awareness on, he did the e-mail equivalent of patting me on the head, assuring me that my graphic would soon come. Soon turned out to be several months, but it was well worth the wait.
My logo is beyond what I expected. It’s so, well, me. It’s got a bit of flair with its funky rocker gyrl font, and yet it’s purposeful. Just enough posturing for a good cause. In one fabulously crafted image, I’m able to promote myself and shout out ovarian cancer survivors. A win-win if you ask me. With its teal ribbon inset — the ovarian cancer color — also doubling as the y, my logo has got me feeling real official.
Forget a business card. I might walk around with my logo on display. I may rock it like a designer label, show it off like a badge, or get it made into a costume so I can dress up as the superhero version of myself for Halloween. I’m starting to think that having my own logo is going to be as good as having my own theme song. Hell, I might look into that next.

It’s you for sure! I love it! Kudos to Pascal! It’s simply fabulous, just like you!
Sure is a nice logo! I like it a lot.

One word: DOPE!!!!
Wow! Worth the wait I’d say, and yes – it is perfectly you.
Now, who is composing your song?
It’s supercalifragilistic!! I love your logo. We all understand “Soon Come,” or heard the phrase many times. But this soon come came with a bang. We can wear the Ts and set up a table on the corner of 18th for selling. This place still isn’t the same without ya.
Love the logo, I think it looks awesome! its also edgy and powerful….excellent!
i’ve taken to reading your blog. You’re really couragous. Cancer is a life changing diagnosis, and this is is brave way to adjust. I wish I could iron on your logo to show how much I support you in your struggle. My mom was diagnoised with Stage 4 colon cancer, it’s a painful diagnosis for everyone around her, reading your blog makes it a little less painful.
I haven’t read it all but your blog is saved as a favorite and I read it whenever I get a chance.
Wouldn’t it be great to see people you never met wearing your logo in support.
I love the logo. I think I want a shirt too. It would look great on anything (colored wife beaters to summer tube tops). Let me know when you start selling them. Hmmm, great fundraiser and awareness piece!!!! Let’s talk
I really love your logo! I can see this logo on T-Shirts, wrist bands, pins, ect… This could be a way to raise money for awareness for Ovarian Cancer. This is POSITIVE and REPRESENTS YOU! I hope you are doing well! Remember, this is God’s plan for you to continue in getting the message out about Ovarian Cancer and other Cancers, educate, love, and inspire others! I miss my daughter’s Speech Therapist who died of Ovarian Cancer a year ago.
I am loving, loving your logo! Rock it gyrl!
The new logo is definitely you.
Love it!
Sounds like you need to add a shopping cart for slayer items. Don’t forget to add baseball caps in white, beige, black and teal ;p
